More detail

Shia Umrah and ziyarat

This itinerary is offered for Shia pilgrims, with ziyarat in Makkah and Madinah arranged around the acts of Umrah. Before booking, confirm which ziyarat sites are included, who guides them, and whether the programme is private or shared.

Who the five-night express is for

This lane is for travellers who already know they cannot take a long trip: a short break from work, a first Umrah with a tight calendar, or a repeat visit where the priority is the Haram rather than a full ziyarat programme. Five nights is enough to complete Umrah and pray in both cities, but it is not enough to do everything slowly. Choose it with that trade-off in mind.

If you are travelling with young children, elderly parents, or anyone who needs a rest day, the seven-night lane is usually the better fit. The express works best for adults who can move early and keep the schedule simple.

What you can realistically do

Three nights in Makkah and two in Madinah gives you one arrival day, Umrah, one full Haram day, and a transfer day. In Madinah, you get one full day for the mosque and Baqi, with Quba and Uhud only if the group is ready early. Do not promise yourself a long ziyarat list; pick the two sites that matter most and leave the rest.

The trip is front-loaded: the first 48 hours set the tone. Arrive with a visa and documents already checked, keep the first day free of fixed plans, and do Umrah as soon as the group is ready.

Makkah: three nights at Elaf Ajyad

Elaf Ajyad is in the Ajyad band, roughly 500–700 metres from the Haram. For a short trip, the walk is the main time cost. Ask for the exact gate and walking time at prayer time, and price a taxi for the return if the group is tired. At this tier, the hotel is a practical base, not a front-row address.

Use the first full day for the Haram and a short visit to the sites closest to the hotel. Keep the longer ziyarat for the morning of departure only if the flight is late; otherwise, do it on the second day.

Madinah: two nights at Saja Al Madinah

Saja Al Madinah is central, roughly 300–600 metres from the mosque area. Two nights is enough for the mosque and Baqi, but not for a relaxed Quba and Uhud circuit. If those sites matter, add a night or accept a shorter visit.

Confirm the exact entrance and whether the route is flat. With only two nights, a long internal walk or a delayed transfer can consume the only free morning.

Transfers and timing

The package includes transfers as per the itinerary. For a five-night trip, the airport and intercity transfers are the schedule. Confirm whether the airport transfer is private, the meeting point, and the luggage allowance. Ask what happens if the flight lands late; a missed transfer can cost you the first night’s rest.

The Makkah–Madinah road transfer should be booked for the morning so you arrive in Madinah with time for Asr or Maghrib. Do not schedule ziyarat on the same day as the transfer.

Ziyarat in a short trip

Pick a private guide only if you have a specific list and a group that can move early. A shared coach may be cheaper, but the fixed stops can eat the little time you have. In Makkah, confirm the sites included; in Madinah, prioritise Baqi and one of Quba or Uhud.

If the group includes women who need specific guidance, ask whether the guide can cover it in the time available. Do not add a long lecture to a short trip; keep the sessions practical.

Rooming and baggage

Ask for double and triple pricing, not just the per-person headline. A five-night trip with hand luggage can work, but check the airline baggage allowance if flights are added separately. Confirm whether the hotel stores bags after checkout and whether the transfer can pick you up from the hotel rather than the airport.

For a short trip, laundry is usually unnecessary; pack for five days and keep one change for the return. A stroller or large family bag changes the transfer vehicle size, so declare it before booking.
